Every Marketplace Mission Group project starts with a simple but important question: “How can we make a lasting, eternal impact in this area?” The answer comes from a blend of prayerful discernment, strategic planning, and listening to the needs of local communities. We started referring to this as a God Dream, because such a vision has to be far bigger than us in order to take off. We took this term from Will Mancini's amazing book with the same name.
Then we look for people who have the ability to dream big dreams and want to impact their world — parents who have a heart for kids, business owners who want to leave a legacy or local ministers who would do anything to see their community thrive. We prayerfully look for the right space in prime locations—often near schools or in high-traffic areas—that have the potential to become gathering places dedicated to faith, mentorship, and belonging. Once a potential property is identified, we expand the conversation with potential partners and gauge the long-term viability.
Then we pray and get to work! Martin Luther once said, "Pray like it's up to God and work like it's up to you!"
